HG is pleased to announce the recent appointment of Mr Shahed Jalal to the position of Director of Infrastructure at Barwon Health.
Shahed is an experienced IT manager with over two decades of experience in IT leadership, and a proven track record of success in managing complex infrastructure environments.
Prior to taking on this leadership role at Barwon Health, Shahed was IT Manager with Assurant – a company offering a range of specialty insurance products, using global insights to solve local problems. His role at Assurant included team leadership, global collaboration, project management and large-scale data migration at a global level.
Shahed holds a Bachelor of Science, and a Graduate Diploma in Internetworking.

Mark Manaia

HG is thrilled to announce the recent appointment of Mr Mark Manaia to the position of Chief Executive at Man Alive | Tāne Ora.
Mark possesses over 24 years’ experience across both commercial and social services sectors. His career trajectory includes key roles such as Clinical Operations Manager at Man Alive and Kaitohu Māori (Director of Strategy & Communications) at Kia Puāwai. Mark’s diverse background has equipped him with a robust skill set in operational leadership, strategic change management, and frontline practice. His extensive experience also includes working in youth justice programmes and providing therapeutic interventions for harmful sexual behaviours.
Mark’s leadership is grounded in Te Ao Māori values and the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi, driving his holistic approach to wellbeing and service delivery.
Mark holds a Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Commerce, Postgraduate Diploma in Counselling, and Bachelor of Health Science in Psychology.

John Bennett
Deputy Chief Executive, System Commissioning and Performance | Accident Compensation Corporation (ACC) New Zealand
HG is extremely pleased to announce the recent appointment of Mr John Bennett to the position of Deputy Chief Executive, System Commissioning and Performance at ACC New Zealand.
John joins the ACC with 29 years of international experience in Health Service Management, Consulting and Health Investment. Having worked in some of the largest and most influential global healthcare organisations, he offers extensive healthcare delivery experience in restructuring and performance improvement, commissioning, strategic reform, operational transformation, and market analysis.
In addition to his Executive Board Director experience in the UK Commissioning sector, John has previously been a Non-Executive Board member in the UK Acute Hospitals Sector. He also holds an MA in Managing Healthcare Organisations from the University of Manchester Business School.
