HG is delighted to announce Dr Pim Borren as the new Chief Executive at Toi Ohomai Institute of Technology, commencing in January 2026.
Pim brings over 20 years of executive leadership experience across tertiary education, local government, and economic consultancy, including senior roles such as Chief Executive at Masterton District Council, Southbank Institute of Technology, and Waiariki Institute of Technology.
He has successfully led major organisational transformations, including doubling revenues and quadrupling Māori enrolments at Waiariki Institute of Technology, and delivering over 140 projects driving regional economic growth at Masterton District Council.
With a strong academic foundation—holding a PhD in Economics from Lincoln University—and a commitment to community well-being, innovation, and bicultural engagement, Pim will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of vocational education in the Bay of Plenty region.

Dr Alice Stewart
Clinical Services Director | Western Health.
HG is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr Alice Stewart as Clinical Services Director at Western Health.
Dr Stewart is a highly regarded senior medical leader. She brings extensive experience in neonatal medicine and executive management across tertiary health services.
Most recently Deputy Program Director, Women’s and Newborn at Monash Health, she has driven strategic and operational excellence across complex service divisions. Dr Stewart has held significant governance roles, leading initiatives that have improved patient safety, clinical standards, and system-wide performance.
Her influence spans state and national advisory positions, shaping neonatal care across Australia. A Consultant Neonatologist and educator, she combines clinical expertise with a strong foundation in health leadership and education.
