THE OPPORTUNITY

As part of the Medicine, Aged, Community and Mental Health Division, the Allied Health program delivers inpatient services across Casey Hospital, Dandenong Hospital, Monash Medical Centre Clayton, Moorabbin Hospital, and the Kingston Centre. The program encompasses physiotherapy, occupational therapy, nutrition and dietetics, social work, speech pathology, spiritual care, and other disciplines, playing a critical role in optimising patient outcomes and supporting multidisciplinary care. This leadership role presents a unique opportunity to drive system‑wide improvement and innovation across one of Victoria’s most complex allied health portfolios. THE ROLE
Reporting operationally to the Divisional Director, Medicine, Aged, Community and Mental Health, and professionally to the Chief Allied Health Officer, the Operations Director provides strategic and operational leadership for bed‑based Allied Health services across Monash Health’s hospital network (excluding Monash Children’s Hospital and Mental Health). The role is accountable for delivering safe, high‑quality, evidence‑based care, achieving operational and financial objectives, and fostering collaboration across multidisciplinary teams. It will also lead workforce development initiatives, drive integration and service redesign, and ensure the program is positioned to meet the needs of a growing and ageing community.
THE CANDIDATE
You are an experienced allied health leader with a proven track record in managing complex, multi‑disciplinary services in large healthcare organisations. With an Allied Health qualification, current AHPRA registration (as applicable) or eligibility for professional membership, you bring expertise in operational governance, financial management, and strategic service planning. You are a collaborative and innovative leader, committed to advancing integrated care, building workforce capability, and driving continuous improvement in patient outcomes. Postgraduate qualifications in management, leadership, or health administration are essential (or you are actively working towards them).
