THE ROLE
Reporting operationally to the Divisional Director, Hospitals and Clinics, and professionally to the Chief Nursing and Midwifery Officer, the Operations Director / Director of Nursing provides strategic and operational leadership across Moorabbin Hospital. This includes accountability for oncology wards, surgical services, and the chemotherapy day unit. The role is responsible for ensuring the delivery of safe, high‑quality, patient‑centred care, driving workforce engagement, achieving financial and operational objectives, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. It also plays a key role in strengthening research partnerships and service innovation to meet evolving community needs.
THE CANDIDATE
You are an accomplished senior nurse leader with significant experience managing complex hospital operations, ideally in oncology or specialty care environments. With current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse and postgraduate qualifications in management, leadership, or health administration (or working towards them), you bring demonstrated expertise in clinical and operational governance, strategic planning, and financial management. You are an inclusive, collaborative leader committed to advancing patient‑centred care, building high‑performing teams, and fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
