THE ROLE
Reporting operationally to the Divisional Director, Hospitals and Clinics, and professionally to the Chief Nursing and Midwifery Officer, the Operations Director / Director of Nursing (DON) Casey Hospital provides comprehensive leadership across emergency, intensive care, general medicine, and surgical services. As the most senior nursing leader at the site, the DON is accountable for ensuring the highest standards of safety, quality, and patient‑centred care, delivering on service and financial performance targets, and fostering an engaged, skilled, and high‑performing workforce. The role will also support the development of innovative service models, advance clinical governance, and ensure Casey Hospital remains ‘always ready’ for accreditation and regulatory compliance.
THE CANDIDATE
You are an experienced senior nursing leader with a proven track record of managing complex, multidisciplinary hospital operations and driving service improvement. With current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse, you bring strong operational and financial acumen, exceptional people leadership skills, and a demonstrated ability to deliver safe, high‑quality care. Postgraduate qualifications in management, health administration, or leadership (completed or in progress) are essential, as is the capability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
