THE ORGANISATION
Barwon Health is one of the largest and most comprehensive regional health services in Australia, with a headcount of 9,000 providing care at all stages of life and circumstances and located in the Geelong area of Victoria. Barwon Health covers the full spectrum from emergency and acute to mental health, primary care, community services, aged care, and subacute/rehabilitation.
Barwon Health is part of the South West Alliance of Rural Health (SWARH) and as the lead agency provides Information and Communication Technology services to the Barwon South West region incorporating 14 major public health services and including around 14 thousand staff.
THE OPPORTUNITY
Barwon Health is now looking to recruit a Director, Digital Health with primary responsibility for the delivery of the Digital Transformation Program supporting SWARH. Reporting to the Chief Information Officer (CIO) and in collaboration with the Chief Clinical Informatics Officer (CCIO) and other IT Directors the Director, Digital Health will ensure the delivery of the strategic program to transform Information and Communication Technology assisted health care outcomes.
THE ROLE
As the successful candidate, you will provide a critical link between the digital health program, organisational change programs, and clinical leaders to shape digital initiatives that support responsive, coordinated, and safe patient care across the Barwon South West Region under the guidence of SWARH. You will collaborate closely with executive and senior management to ensure the optimal implementation of clinical information systems.
Your proven track record of innovation, continuous improvement, and change management will position you well for this role. You will also have experience and technical understanding of healthcare systems and processes and significant leadership and operational management within a complex health system.
