- Lead the technology, product and architecture direction of some of New Zealand’s most significant digital health platforms, helping shape the future of integrated healthcare delivery.
- Provide executive-level strategic advice to the CEO and Board while driving innovation, enterprise architecture, product development and technology investment decisions.
- Partner across HealthOne, Pegasus Health and Health New Zealand to deliver resilient, secure and interoperable digital solutions that improve outcomes for clinicians, patients and the wider health system.
THE OPPORTUNITY
HealthOne Limited Partnership is seeking an accomplished and forward-thinking technology leader to shape the next chapter of its product and technology strategy, strengthen its digital capabilities and help realise new opportunities for growth and innovation.
HealthOne plays an important role in Aotearoa New Zealand’s digital health ecosystem, connecting health information and supporting clinicians to make better, faster and safer decisions that improve the coordination and quality of patient care. Through its established HealthOne and Electronic Request Management System (ERMS) platforms, the organisation contributes to more connected, efficient and effective healthcare delivery.
This is an opportunity to join a purpose-driven organisation with established products, strong sector relationships and ambitions to deliver greater value to clinicians, patients and its partners. The successful candidate will build on these foundations, bringing fresh perspectives, commercial insight and the ability to translate technological possibilities into practical, sustainable outcomes.
THE ROLE
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Chief Product and Technology Officer will provide strategic leadership across HealthOne’s technology direction, product portfolio, enterprise architecture and development priorities.
As a trusted adviser to the Chief Executive Officer and Board, the role will be instrumental in shaping the organisation’s technology strategy, identifying opportunities for innovation, and guiding investment decisions that support long-term sustainability and growth.
Working closely with product and programme leaders, and in partnership with Pegasus Health and Health New Zealand technology teams, the successful candidate will establish clear priorities, strengthen delivery capability and ensure technology solutions remain secure, resilient, interoperable and responsive to customer needs.
Central to the role will be the ability to balance strategic ambition with disciplined execution, bringing people together around a shared vision while navigating partnerships, differing priorities and shared accountabilities.
THE CANDIDATE
We are seeking a strategic, commercially astute and engaging technology leader who combines deep technical credibility with exceptional relationship management and people leadership capabilities.
The successful candidate will bring:
- Proven senior leadership experience across technology strategy, product development, enterprise architecture and complex digital delivery environments.
- The ability to articulate a compelling technology and product vision, translating strategic opportunities into achievable roadmaps and measurable organisational value.
- A collaborative and empowering leadership style, capable of building on existing strengths, developing team capability and bringing people confidently through change.
- Strong relationship management and influencing skills, with the judgement, diplomacy and resilience to navigate complex stakeholder environments and shared accountabilities.
- Excellent communication and storytelling skills, making complex technical concepts accessible and compelling to Boards, executives, clinicians and other non-technical audiences.
- A constructive, optimistic and solutions-focused approach, with the confidence to challenge established thinking, encourage innovation and maintain momentum through complexity.
- Sound commercial judgement and an understanding of technology investment, cyber security, privacy, risk and the importance of reliable, sustainable services.
Experience within digital health or similarly complex, highly regulated environments would be advantageous, alongside a genuine commitment to using technology to improve outcomes for people and communities.
This is a compelling opportunity for a leader who can connect people, products and technology around a shared ambition, combining strategic vision with the pragmatism and interpersonal skills to turn that ambition into meaningful results.
