An exciting opportunity is offered for an exceptional individual to lead Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service (CQHHS). CQHHS is a high-quality public health service provider that operates with a vision to provide Great Care for Central Queenslanders.

The Health Service Chief Executive (HSCE) is appointed by, and reports to, the Central Queensland Hospital and Health Board and is the single point of leadership and accountability for ensuring patient safety through the effective executive leadership and management of all hospitals and health services, as well as associated support functions within CQHHS.

The new CQHHS Chief Executive will lead a region-wide Executive, support $132 million of funded capital development, continue to grow the reliability, sustainability and respect of healthcare provision, and develop a team approach that continues to offer great place to work in Central Queensland.

Rockhampton is home to CQHHS’s major referral hospital. It is just one hour north of Brisbane by air, a short drive to the east coast which is home to the Great Barrier Reef and a staging point to experience the real Australian outback.

CQHHS employs a highly committed team of more than 3,700 staff across the regional cities, coastal communities and rural towns in the region.

Central Queensland offers a diverse and challenging regional role, rich with opportunities and located in the beautiful heart of Queensland. The region boasts stunning rural and coastal landscapes and is an economic centre for agriculture and mining sectors as well as having access to first class tertiary education and research facilities.

CQHHS is an independent statutory body that services a population of about 250,000, with a budget of $870 million.  It provides the continuum of services, from community-based health services through to range of specialist regional hospital services and across multiple sites.
