As the social services arm of the Catholic Archdiocese of Brisbane, Centacare supports people across South East Queensland from Hervey Bay in the North, to Kingaroy and Gatton in the West and down to the New South Wales border. The Centacare Team share a common belief that we are all created equal and deserving of loving care. They also believe that for their people, care is a calling. This demonstrates their shared commitment to doing whatever they can to ensure that everyone in their communities is not just cared for, but cared about, in ways that help them live their fullest lives.

Centacare has a workforce of more than 3,000, plus volunteers, and operates in more than 200 locations, supporting tens of thousands of people each year. Across aged care, community and pastoral care, disability care, Early EdCare and family and relationship care, Centacare teams walk alongside people on life’s journey, providing the support they need to achieve what is important to them at that moment and into the future. Often Centacare teams come together to provide the holistic support a person needs to thrive.

Centacare’s Directorates include:

  • Aged Care and Disability Services including a range of home care and home safe services, supported independent living services, respite services, transport, and practice governance services
  • Family relationship services, including relationship education, counselling, family dispute resolution, domestic and family violence services, sexual assault services, community development, children’s programs.
  • Catholic Early Ed Care (CEEC) Childcare services, including outside school hours care, early learning centres and kindergartens

Client-centred care, facilitated through a range of practice governance measures, is foundational to consistent, high-quality service delivery and continuous improvement in safety, quality and cost effectiveness as well as improvements in client and staff satisfaction.

Centacare is seeking to appoint a General Manager of the Quality, Risk & Governance Unit. The unit will encompass all services identified above. Centacare’s size, scale and complexity requires a robust practice governance framework to assure a high level of continuous improvement, quality and accountability in the delivery of services, expected by clients, families, and Standards and Regulations.

  • Will provide contemporary leadership through establishing a Quality, Risk & Governance Unit (QRGU) across Centacare’s highly diverse operations, to enhance the quality, safety and supports and maximise outcomes for clients.
  • Is pivotal in establishing the Practice Governance (PG) foundations towards inclusive, ethical, client-centred, high quality, evidence-informed services across Centacare’s Directorates.
  • Will have extensive experience in developing practice governance principles and practices in a complex environment and high-level change and transition capabilities to support a range of internal and external reforms.

Centacare is looking for a person who has the passion and commitment to achieving exceptional outcomes for clients, who has a knowledge of and commitment to Catholic social teachings, and a strong commitment to social justice.
