This role is responsible for the effective leadership of these services to ensure their alignment with business needs and SESLHD objectives. Overseeing operations, performance reports and ensuring that the LHD is exploring the most efficient and effective corporate services is key to success in the role.  The General Manager Corporate Services is responsible for a team of approximately 700 staff where there is significant scope for improved efficiencies and consistency across the District  that aligns people, financial resources, technology and good governance and process management.

As a significant leadership role, SESLHD is seeking a candidate that has a proven track record in provision of corporate services and can demonstrate experience in leading change, motivating teams that traverse a range of professions and job types and can inspire confidence that can influence and enable others to adapt to new ways of doing business and providing services. Key to the role will be the ability to demonstrate excellence in communication and stakeholder management skills.  On behalf of SESLHD the General Manager will be required to liaise regularly and build strong relationships with external suppliers and other health and government bodies including Health Infrastructure and HealthShare. A partnership approach between SESLHD and these bodies is necessary to leverage combined capabilities towards the best outcomes.  The candidate will have experience in collaborating with senior executives and managing relationships including coaching and mentoring the corporate service teams. The General Manager must promote a values-based, culturally safe environment while driving practical and strategic innovative solutions within each of the streams of work.

This role is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to make a significant impact in SESLHD that is experiencing growth in the demand for clinical services by the community and has significant capital programs and redevelopments underway. The candidate will need to demonstrate an understanding of the machinery of government and ideally in a health system environment.  Experience in bringing innovative and contemporary practices to the LHD will be an asset. The LHD is seeking a high performing leader with a track record in delivering customer centric services, identifying, and implementing improvements in technology and processes that lead to continuous improvement and support SESLHD to better decisions,  ensuring a competitive advantage in the way corporate services are conducted and provided.

The General Manager Corporate Services has a significant role in capital works and must have excellent contractor management and negotiation skills and an expanding understanding of the technical aspects of capital works projects. This involves delivering, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating projects to achieve the LHD’s objectives in these works.

Importantly the core values of collaboration, openness, respect and empowerment must be demonstrated in the daily activities and work style of the successful candidate.

We look forward to receiving applications from suitably experienced candidates looking to ensure excellence in health care through corporate services that are integral to the operation of South Eastern Sydney Local Health District.
