As a member of the Executive team at Blacktown/Mt Druitt Hospitals and reporting to the General Manager, the Director, Human Resources provides leadership and strategic direction in the development, integration, review and coordination of workforce management matters across Blacktown & Mount Druitt Hospital and the respective health services governed by each hospital. The Director, Human Resources supports organisational change through workforce and strategic planning for significant facility-wide redevelopment projects, new service initiatives and key clinical changes.

The Director, Human Resources supports the development of the professional staff within the Workforce /HR Department to increase their capacity and capabilities as credible and valued business partners in the delivery of patient-centred health care services including industrial relations and performance matters.  

Western Sydney Local Health District employs more than 13,000 people across more than 70 sites including Westmead, Auburn, Cumberland, Blacktown and Mount Druitt hospitals as well as a network of comprehensive integrated care and community-based services.

Blacktown Hospital provides a 24-hour emergency service, intensive care unit, sub-specialty acute medical and surgical care, obstetrics and newborn care, and mental health services.  Mount Druitt Hospital offers 24-hour emergency care, elective surgical services, inpatient paediatrics and subacute services including rehabilitation and palliative care.

The successful candidate will bring a proven track record of experience in providing strategic and operational leadership to a complex organisation in a climate of continuing change.  This will be complemented by an ability to deliver results in people management and organisation development.  The successful candidates will have well-established skills in communicating and influencing with a diverse range of stakeholders as well as fostering a positive professional respectful working environment.
