Director Finance H23_4419
HardyGroup are pleased to be partnering with South Eastern Sydney Local Health District (SESLHD/LHD) in sourcing a Director Finance.
This role represents an exciting opportunity for suitably qualified and experienced accounting professionals to provide financial leadership in the provision of coordinated, high quality services to the LHD.
This role is responsible for the management of the LHD’s $1.8b budget and all associated accountabilities for the District’s long term financial health and growth. Overseeing accounting operations, accurate and timely financial reports and ensuring that the LHD’s government and statutory obligations are met and complied with is critical. The Director Finance is responsible for a team of circa. 80 staff and has significant scope for a more strategic approach to budgeting, financial management and planning going forward.
As an Executive role, SESLHD is seeking a candidate that has a proven track record in the provision of expert financial services and advice and leading related improvement programs. The candidate will have extensive experience in collaborating with senior executives and managing relationships including coaching and mentoring the finance team and organisational stakeholder management skills with Treasury, the Ministry of Health and other companies, suppliers and agencies. The Director must promote a values-based, culturally safe environment while driving practical and strategic innovative solutions. This role is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to make a significant impact in SESLHD, where there is increasing growth in the demand for clinical services by the community and there are significant capital programs and redevelopments underway. The candidate will need to demonstrate an understanding of the machinery of government and financial governance accountabilities in a public system environment. Experience in private sector and/or NGO financial management will also be an asset in bringing innovative and contemporary practices to the LHD.
The Director Finance will work closely with the Chief Executive and collaborate with executive peers on strategic decisions and as part of this, will monitor trends in the market and government and advise how these will impact the LHD’s financial status. The candidate will need to ensure the LHD is financially compliant and have strong problem-solving and analytical skills to ensure the LHD has good cash flow and can adjust strategies and manage risks to help the District thrive, ultimately supporting delivery of the 2022-25 Exceptional Care, Healthier Lives strategy.
The core values of collaboration, openness, respect and empowerment must be demonstrated in the daily activities and work style of the successful candidate.
We look forward to receiving applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates looking to ensure excellence in health care through strong financial governance.
