- An experienced Chair is sought for the Performance and Risk Committee of the Department for Child Protection
The Department for Child Protection (DCP) was formed in November 2016 and works in partnership with families, government and non-government organisations, carers and the community to care for and protect vulnerable children and young people by addressing harm and keeping them safe.
The Performance and Risk Committee is responsible for providing independent advice to the Chief Executive and the Senior Executive Group on the department’s risk, control and compliance framework, clinical governance and its external accountability responsibilities. The Committee will provide advice regarding agency performance, strategy, operations, financial management, people and culture, compliance and accountability, customer complaints, service delivery, to the extent that they pertain to sound corporate governance and take risk into account in determining priorities.
The independent Chair will be responsible for communicating matters arising and specific issues of which the Chief Executive of the DCP should be aware. The Chair should also ensure that senior management are informed of relevant issues from the Performance and Risk Committee.
Experience in risk management and audit functions and committees, with a particular understanding of good governance arrangements in the public sector, is considered to be essential.
Remuneration is currently $5000 per Quarter
