About Pathways | Mō mātou

Pathways is a leading national provider of community-based mental health, addiction and wellbeing services in Aotearoa. They’re all about transforming mental health and addictions through their Pathways (adult) and Real (youth) services. In fact, they’ve been doing it for 30 years, supporting around 7,450 people each year, all around New Zealand, to live their dreams and flourish – from supporting young people to love life, be resilient and feel good about their futures, to providing adults with support around practical daily living, leading a healthy life, employment and housing.

Pathways was established in 1989, introducing a new model of care to the mental health sector. Today, with their inspirational dream of ‘transforming mental health and addictions through fostering strong, compassionate, self-supporting communities, they’re continuing to lead, innovate and pioneer new ways of working.

They believe everyone can recover and they are here to do everything they can to support them in their recovery. Pathways’ spirit of ‘whatever it takes’ is not just a slogan on the wall, their employees live this spirit every day.

Pathways is part of the Wise Group, one of the largest non-government providers in New Zealand. The Wise Group is a family of charitable entities, all linked by a common dream – to create fresh possibilities and services for the wellbeing of people, organisations and communities.

Being part of the Wise Group gives Pathways access to a wealth of resources and support, both from our shared business infrastructure services and from other entities in the group.

Role | Mō tēnei tūranga mahi

The Service and Relationship Manager in Wairarapa reports to the Regional General Manager and is part of a wider national group of Service and Relationship Managers who form the Pathways and Real leadership group.

The Service and Relationship Manager will lead and inspire team coaches to build highly engaged teams that deliver their best for the community-based mental health, addiction and wellbeing services.

Services include youth services under their Real brand, Pathways community mobile, a residential social detox and respite and housing and recovery residential services, as well as an addiction counselling service and the only NGO-run Opioid Substitute Treatment service.

The Service and Relationship Manager works side by side with their clinical partners, developing and strengthening their integrated work to better care for those that they support.

This role also supports the General Manager to meet local community needs. The successful candidate will likely be a dynamic, supportive and inspiring leader, that’s willing to roll their sleeves up and do the mahi with their team.

Pathways celebrate diversity and want their workforce to reflect the communities they work in. They are a learning organisation and on a journey with Te Ao Māori. Māori and Pacifica are strongly encouraged to apply. We also encourage people with lived experience to apply.
