Barwon Health is one of the largest and most comprehensive regional health services in Australia, providing care at all stages of life and circumstance. Barwon Health covers the full spectrum from emergency and acute to mental health, primary care, community services, aged care and subacute/rehabilitation. With a staff of over 8,500 headcount this is a large and complex health service located in the Geelong area of Victoria.
Barwon Health are now looking to recruit a Director Employee Relations / Industrial Relations accountable for providing both strategic direction and day to day management and oversight for ER / IR matters at Barwon Health. A senior leader within the People & Culture team, this is a key management role that will develop and lead the implementation of the Barwon Health ER / IR strategy (5-year outlook) and lead the team including HR business partners and officers, to support operational objectives.
Reporting to the Chief People and Culture Officer for Barwon Health and with direct line team management including a Senior IR Manager and all HR Business Partners, you would be responsible for providing cohesive leadership and strategic direction in relation to ER/IR strategy, health service wide ER/IR operational matters across Barwon Health and the workplace relations team.
The role will co-ordinate the effective and compliant implementation of relevant Enterprise Agreements, influence timely and effective support for human resource related matters and establish pro-active strategies to strengthen working relationships across Barwon Health in people and culture initiatives.
Your proven track record of experience in providing strategic and operational leadership in an Employee Relations / Industrial Relations role for a complex organisation in a climate of continuing change, complements your capacity to deliver sustainable results in Industrial and Employee Relations outcomes. Your team leadership and interpersonal skills enable you to communicate with and influence diverse stakeholders successfully and build organisational commitment to developing a culture of positive reform and a commitment to Barwon Health being seen as contemporary provider of health services and an employer of choice in the marketplace.
