Kevin has a unique combination of strategic vision, a passion to create new business opportunities focussing on delivering real and innovative solutions to major individual and organisational problems, and first-hand knowledge and deep understanding of political realities and drivers. These qualities are framed around his strong commitment to value add networking and personal relationship networks that build success for HGI and its clients, nationally and internationally.

Kevin established an internal consulting, fee for service leadership development consultancy in his last role for the APS as Head, The Development Consultants, Australian Public Service Commission and in 1989 he founded Kevin Hardy and Associates. Kevin has been the driving force, in partnership with Jean Fagan, behind its transformation and rebranding, under the banner of HGI, to a highly respected, high end retained executive recruitment, leadership management and development firm with global reach and genuine focus on building a community of talented leaders in health and the public sector.

He continues to stamp his personal style on leadership solutions through creative leadership edge designs for building organisational capacity and performance. He enjoys his continuing role in facilitating top level executive strategy groups (Learning Sets) that are part of the HGI executive leadership and learning community network. Kevin is excited by the emerging opportunities in the Asian market and by the strategic partnerships being led by HGI’s CEO, Frank Tracey.

Chief Executive Officer

Frank has been involved in public health for over 30 years. He came to New Zealand from Ireland in 1987. He commences in his next career challenge as HardyGroup International’s new CEO on 31 May 2011.

Frank has been a successful turnaround CEO in a non-government organisation, a commissioner and contractor of public health services, a principal business development executive in the tertiary education sector through the University of Auckland, managing the commercialisation of health related research, and, a consultant facilitating and leading successful organisational change. He is a Trustee for a large not for profit organisation.

He is driven to be a successful leader and change agent because of the “buzz” it gives him to watch organisations and people grow. He is an outstanding communicator, listener, relationship builder and strategist and people gravitate to his friendly straight talking style and the challenges he poses to achieve results and have fun!

He is particularly strong in building a team powered by success and building a culture striving for high grade client service, continually raising the bar on performance and relationship management as well as the interconnectedness of a professional service chain consulting organisation.

The challenge of leading the continuing growth of HGI is an exciting one for Frank as HGI expands its horizons and offerings. The ability to create new business and enhance the current business requires a leader with a clear sense of strategic direction, the ability to build a highly focused team of consultants who have the ability to be both creative and disciplined. Frank brings the leadership that drives a quality organisation that is proud of its reputation and its success.

Jean Fagan

Jean Fagan

Jean is Executive Director, Business Development for HardyGroup International and Senior Executive Search Consultant.

Jean’s background spans 20 years in public and private sector organisations in the UK, South Africa and Australia, initially as a clinician and then in management and policy development.

Jean’s leadership highlights a rigorous approach to systems thinking and new business development. Her focus on client and candidate relationships, has earned HGI a reputation for thoroughness and professionalism.

Sue Belsham

Sue Belsham

Sue Belsham is a Senior Consultant with HardyGroup International, responsible for executive search assignments for top tier executives, facilitating executive strategy and problem solving groups, and providing executive coaching services.

Sue has formerly held chief executive positions in two health organisations in Australia and New Zealand, during which time she was responsible for major organisational change, strategic thinking and direction setting, restructuring, organisation development, budget realignment and culture change. Her educational background is in nursing, which she complemented with qualifications in Arts, Business Studies and Health Administration.

Sue has exceptionally well developed people skills, which, when coupled with her results-driven approach, ensures she delivers the best outcomes for HGI’s clients and candidates.

John Mollett

John Mollett

John Mollett is HGI’s Executive Director, Search and Senior Consultant, Leadership.

As Senior Consultant, Leadership, John is responsible for the design and delivery of a suite of leadership initiatives including executive learning sets, coaching and mentoring services, and leadership development.

In his role as the Executive Director, Search, John manages search assignments for top tier executives in Australia and New Zealand.

John has an extensive executive leadership background in both Australia and New Zealand, including general manager positions in three major tertiary hospitals, Chief Operating Officer for two large Health Boards in New Zealand and a Regional Director with Human Services in Victoria. John’s rich experience in the Health industry enables him to work with individuals, organisations and groups to take thinking and action from the ‘theoretical’ to the ‘achievable’.

Geoff Lavender

Geoff Lavender

Executive Director, Leadership & Learning

Geoff Lavender is Executive Director, Leadership & Learning. Geoff is responsible for the design and delivery of HGI's leadership initiatives including executive learning sets, coaching and mentoring services, and leadership development.

With over 30 years public sector experience in education, the health sector and working with central government, Geoff has an extensive executive leadership background. He has held senior manager positions including policy advising to ministers, strategy development, commissioning and service development, operational management of key human services direct delivery functions as well as directing major projects. Prior to joining HGI, Geoff was Director Programs in the Victorian State Government Department of Health.   

His career began as a primary school teacher in urban South London and tropical Queensland. He has also worked as a ministerial adviser to a former Victorian State Attorney-General. Geoff has a background in social policy and research, originally in education and, since the late 1980s, in health and social services. A philosophy graduate of the University of Lancaster, he also holds a master of policy & law from La Trobe University.
Tom Stubbs

Dr Tom Stubbs

Dr Tom Stubbs has over 30 years of public sector experience. He was Chief Executive of the SA Government Reform Commission from July 2006 through to the completion of its work at the end of 2008. He reported to former Queensland Premier Wayne Goss as Commission Chair. Immediately prior to that appointment he was Acting Chief Executive of the SA Department of Health. His previous experience included numerous Executive positions in Health, Human Services, Premier and Cabinet, Housing and Urban Development, Environment and Planning and the Environment Protection Authority.

He has tertiary qualifications in science, education and music and started his career as a physicist in a teaching and research role at the University of Adelaide. He now runs his own business advising Government and the private sector in areas such as health system management and public sector management more generally. He is also involved in Executive recruitment and development. He has extensive coaching and mentoring experience and his current contracts include metropolitan and country health Executives in South Australia.
