Staff Specialist/Senior Staff Specialist

Emergency Department

Central Queensland Health Service District      

The Senior Medical Officer will report to the Director of Emergency.

Key accountabilities of this position are;

•To actively engage in teaching of staff, both medical and nursing, including medical students, junior medical staff and specialist trainees.
• To participate on the after-hours and weekend roster.
• Liaise with the Director regarding planning, both strategic and operational for the Department.
• Represent the Rockhampton District health Service on committees as required.
• Provide ethical decision making in the achievement of organisational goals.
• Provide a high quality clinical service and in doing so, work within the bounds of community accepted good clinical practice
• Actively engage in and training.
• Promote, develop and implement quality activities with the Department of Emergency.
