Clinical Director - Psychiatry

Townsville Health Service District spans across north Queensland delivering a comprehensive range of progressive and innovative mental health services to a population of around 600,000 people in Townsville, Ingham, Palm Island, Magnetic Island, Chartered Towers, Bowen, Collinsville, Ayr, Hughenden and Richmond. No other Queensland District provides a mental health service as comprehensive as Townsville.
 
One of the key challenges for the successful candidate will be to take a leading role in the redevelopment of the secure mental health and adolescent inpatient and daycare facilities. In line with National Mental Health strategies there is significant further development required of services in the community and non government sector as well as development of outreach and indigenous services.
 
This position will work in partnership with the Operations Director for the Institute in providing executive and professional leadership, expertise and management of mental health services. In addition, the Clinical Director will have the opportunity to provide leadership of the North Queensland Region and work closely with the Director Mental Health Services, Queensland on statewide matters.
